A soundtrack for the 1989 film WHEN HARRY MET SALLY was released worldwide on cassette, LP and compact disc. It featured a soundtrack of standards re-recorded by Harry Connick Jr.. The popularity of the film and Connick’s hit version of, “It Had To Be You,” helped usher in a resurgence and interest in vocalists including Tony Bennett’s “Steppin Out’” album in 1990 and “Unplugged” album in1991.  That same year saw Natalie Cole dueting with her father, Nat King Cole on ‘Unforgettable’. The upswing in popularity in turn, even inspired Frank Sinatra to record his final two albums “Duets” and “Duets II” in 1993 and 1994. This special edition soundtrack includes all of the original songs Connick covered as well as several more songs as heard in the film but were not included on the original soundtrack.
