A soundtrack for the 1979 film CALIFORNIA DREAMING was released briefly on LP via the Casablanca label in ten different countries. The version of "California Dreamin' recorded by the duo America heard  during the closing credits was issued as a single,
spending eight weeks in the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #56. The soundtrack was
out-of-print within a year of its release and has remained with no reissue since.  
This special edition contains five bonus songs from the 1978 Sam Elliot / Parker Stephenson film, LIFEGUARD, which had no soundtrack ever issued.
