This is a special edition film soundtrack for the 1983 comedy and Christmas classic, A Christmas Story.  Since the film itself was kind of a bomb when it debuted, an original soundtrack was never created or produced for the film.  A limited edition CD of the musical score was finally released in 2009, but is now out-of-print and commanding prices in the hundreds of dollars.  This collection includes the out-of-print score plus all of the songs from the film. The sound is excellent.
